Kiara M. Matthews, MS, CCC-SLP

Say hi to our Speech-Language Pathologist and founder, Kiara Matthews, MS, CCC-SLP, fondly known as Aunty Kiara, who has been practicing since 2014. 

Although she started her undergraduate studies at UWI St. Augustine, she attained her Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Howard University in 2012. She holds a Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology degree at Northwestern University. 

Kiara is an executive member of the Speech-Language Audiology Association of Trinidad and Tobago, of the Caribbean Speech-Language Hearing Association, and of the Occupational Therapy Speech-Language Pathology Board of Trinidad and Tobago. She is also registered with the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. 

While her caseload comprises mainly young children, she has a particular soft spot for voice disorders as she is a singer - a member of the prolific Lydian Singers.

Fun facts: Aunty Kiara has a 4 year old daughter named Corynn who is often at the office and partakes in sessions, providing group-like qualities to client’s sessions when needed. Also, if she weren’t an SLP, she would want to compose music for film and theatre. (PS. She has already composed pieces for solo voice, choir, piano and steelband).

Britteney Cayenne, MA, BSc

Professionally qualified as a psychologist, Britteney Cayenne possesses a Master of Arts Degree in Forensic Psychology, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
Ms. Cayenne’s competencies in providing psycho-diagnostic and therapeutic services come from sound educational and professional backgrounds in areas such as psychopathology, clinical and forensic assessment, and victim psychology. Further, Ms. Cayenne is adept in providing Existential Well-Being Counseling and Motivational Interviewing; psychological interactions that focus on empowering individuals to thrive within challenging states of being.

Ms. Cayenne’s professional experience encompasses four years’ dedicated service within the mental health and social service fields. This has allowed her to gain competencies in providing: psychological needs assessments, psycho-social evaluations and interventions, as well as psycho-educational sensitization to varying demographics.

Beyond the professional facet, Ms. Cayenne has a passion for children and volunteering. Currently, she works with the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago’s Children Court as a Trainer and Adult Volunteer. Through the Court’s Peer Resolution Programme she assists in the restorative justice process of children who commit minor criminal offences. Prior to this, Ms Cayenne’s voluntary roles included being a mentor and homework tutor at Ferndean’s Children’s Home and Point Fortin Youth Division Office of the Ministry of Gender and Child Affairs.

Jasmine Seepersad, MS Ed Psych 

Our educational psychologist, Jasmine, attained her Bachelors of Arts in Linguistics with a Minor in Human Resources Management at U.W.I. St. Augustine in 2005. At the same university, she completed a Certificate course in Speech and Language Pathology in 2009. She is the holder of a Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of the Southern Caribbean in 2018 with special emphasis in Assessments.

Jasmine believes that the assessment of cognitive, behavioural/social and emotional domains is the first step in tapping into the lives of both children and adults. Thus, she would like to become a gateway in assisting persons to reach their highest potential by rediscovering their strengths and weaknesses as a catalyst for social, psychological, emotional, educational growth and well-being.

Jasmine has a 12-year-old daughter, Manisha who is a professional Dancer with the Shiv Shakti Dance Company. When she is not at work, Jasmine spends time with her family and participates in dance classes together with her daughter as it gives them both time to unwind and spend quality time with each other.

Joanne Pyle

Say hi to our receptionist, Joanne Pyle. Joanne was a legal secretary for former Chief Justice Mr. Sat Sharma, Senior  Counsel Mr. Desmond Allum (deceased), Justice Mr. Prakask Moosai, Justice Mr. Rajendra Narine,  and Mr. Alvin  K. Fitzpatrick to name a few. She also was manager of a liability company named The Signature Collection - trading as Signature 2000. In her free time, she enjoys and loves to cook, and has a strong passion for singing, She is a member of The Lydian Singers as one of their main soloists, and is also the lead singer in her church choir at Tranquillity Methodist Church.
